Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN)

What is low-dose naltrexone? It is classified as an opioid antagonist. It blocks the body’s opioid receptors for a short period of time and increases endorphin production (lower doses of this medication are used “off-label”, these doses are about 1/10 the the typical dose used for opioid addiction treatment).

What is it prescribed for? It may be used for many things, examples include: Crohn’s disease, Autoimmune diseases, Rheumatoid arthritis, Type 1 diabetes, Multiple sclerosis, Celiac disease, Chronic fatigue, HIV/AIDs, Depression, Chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, Pain associated with Lyme disease.

How do I get it? Talk to your doctor about getting a prescription.

Contact your doctor if more serious side effects are noticed such as:
Confusion, hallucinations, blurred vision, severe diarrhea/vomiting.

Much higher doses require monitoring for liver damage.
